I have bazillion jpgs of various forms of babery. I give them some stupid name when I find them on the internet, and for the most part have no idea of what there is on the computer. Used to be, when you’d upload stuff onto the site here, the uploader would give you a preview of the imagine, and if you changed the image selected, you’d change the preview too. Same would happen if you tried to “open file” with the browser.
A while ago, I updated to OS Lion. Now, no preview. You have to actually open the stupid thing to see what the file actually is. (Unless, of course, you see the icon that’s about three millimeters square, but my eyes don’t have that ability.) If you don’t like what you see, you have to cancel and go through the whole rigamarole all over again to examine the next file. Sometimes, I go through dozens of images before I find one I want to post.
This new setup is clearly intolerable. I’ve tried to google my way out of it, but key words like “jpg” and “preview” get you all sorts of irrelevant shit. I have no idea why the thing started behaving this way, and until I figure out how to get it to work the way it used to, there will be no more babe pictures of the day.
“Progress” sucks.

It seems that with each new feline Apple takes a step further towards madness. Just wait for Sabre-Toothed Tabby (10.15.0) due out 2013.

Have you heard, the next generation of MacBook Pros may have no optical drive (like the air). Presumably because his Jobsness (now retired) thinks / thought that we’re all moving to clouds and streaming and don’g need things like disks anymore.
